Jess Ruff

Jess Ruff began teaching group fitness classes in 2008 after years of being a FIRM client. She loves teaching at Jamie Scott Fitness, where she is able to constantly challenge herself as well as the clients. In addition to teaching and taking classes at Jamie Scott Fitness, she enjoys running and has completed many races, including 10 half marathons. She earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Clemson University, and a master’s degree in library and information sciences from the University of South Carolina. Jess is a National Board Certified teacher at Brennen Elementary School, where she strives to set a healthy example for her young students. In her free time she enjoys watching college football and cheering for the Clemson Tigers!

  • Barre Focus
  • Ideology: Barre Focus is a fast-paced, 50-minute class designed to get your heart rate up and achieve maximum muscle toning. In class, you work your body head to toe with high-energy cardio moves followed by intense toning segments.

    Equipment: Light weights, Spri Ball, Mat, and Therabands

    Footwear: Socks with a grip or dance shoes

  • Bikes and Barre
  • This innovative class fuses the intensity of cycle with the burn and stretch of barre. Start with a calorie-torching 30-minute session on the bike. Then, hop off and head to the barre for 20 minutes of full-body toning and sculpting. You'll leave Bikes and Barre feeling strong, lean and worked!

  • XHAUST
  • Ideology: Xhaust uses HITT (high intensity interval training) timing to produce a killer workout in minimal time. The work to rest ratio is designed to produce maximum work in specific muscle groups, all the while giving a great cardio workout. Props: anything goes
