Kate Nunn

Kate was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. Growing up her parents always made her take up a sport during each season of the year. She learned to love all the activities she tried including soccer, basketball, softball, swimming, dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, volleyball, golf, and running. Kate is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Public Health, and continues her career in promoting health and wellness.

When she decided to train for a half marathon, Kate found JSF after searching for a gym that would match her love for exercise and work with her busy schedule. Working out has never been so convenient, challenging, and fun!

She is a certified personal trainer through Action’s NCCA Accredited program. 

Kate’s favorite motivational quote is, “It’s a slow process, but quitting won’t speed it up.” Whether it is one more rep, one more circuit, or one more work out, Kate will always push you to be the best you can be.

Dale Murrie

Dale Murrie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the College of Charleston and a Master of Arts in Teaching from The Citadel. She began her fitness career with The FIRM in 1992 and was in several fitness videos as well as lead roles and also spent time as a personal trainer. Dale has worked in the Children’s Physical Activity Research Group at the University of South Carolina since 2000. The focus of their research is childhood obesity. Dale grew up being involved in swimming, cheerleading and dance and turned to The FIRM in order to continue her active lifestyle. She’s very excited to be a part of Jamie Scott Fitness as we embark on innovative new programs and classes and our move to the beautiful new facility at Cross Hill Market!

Renee Holler

Renee Holler began her fitness career with The Firm in 1994. While at The Firm she participated in several of the videos, was featured in the book “Firm for Life”, and earned her personal training certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. She has also earned her certification as a spin instructor through Cycle Reebok and continues to maintain her certification for Adult CPR. She earned a B.A. degree from Wofford College where she was a double major in Economics and Religion. Married for 27 years with three children, she not only teaches for Jamie Scott Fitness, she also works at the Holler Law Firm. Her plans for the future are to pursue not only her nutrition certification but also a ropes certification. So much of how we feel and look is not only due to exercising on a regular basis, but a result of the food and drink we put into our bodies. Educating myself about nutrition and new innovative approaches to health and fitness will hopefully accomplish what our mission statement here at JSF is…to not only encourage but empower our clients to achieve a lifetime of wellness.

Chase Irons

Chase Irons was born and raised in Columbia, SC and has always been involved in fitness, as she began playing sports at the age of 6.
 
She played basketball and volleyball competively in high school and started running in college while attending The University of South Carolina. She has run The Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, and eight half marathons locally since 2008. She believes in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness and a healthy diet.
 
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben, and their three rescue dogs, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Shannon Watson

Shannon has always been passionate about health and wellness, which lead
her into a career as a Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery. She believes in caring for the whole body and taking a
well-rounded approach through diet and exercise science. Shannon is ASFA Certified in Cycling and as a Sports Nutritionist.
 
Cycling became a passion of hers 12 years ago, but she also practices a combination of weight
training, running outdoors, yoga, and fitness classes. She is up for
anything new and finds joy in trying new classes, sports and techniques. 
 
Shannon's words of wisdom regarding health and wellness? "Do not go on a
diet. Learn about healthy eating and make changes slowly. Keep learning
about health and fitness; if you immerse yourself into something you are more likely to stick with it. Try new things and find what you love about
fitness. Don't beat yourself up about any missed goals. Keep moving
forward."
 
Shannon says the JSF-style of classes and her passion to help motivate
people get the results they are after is what drove her to become a
Motivator.
 
Shannon's advice to her clients? "Stay positive. Anything moving you
toward a wellness goal is better than nothing, and it is small changes
over time that create lasting results. I will keep class fresh and
challenging, and I promise to deliver a well rounded workout that can give
you results. KEEP COMING AND HAVE FUN!"

With a MyZone belt, you will be able to track during class what heart rate zone you are in, how many calories you are burning and how intense your workout really is. We are the only gym in Columbia utilizing this system. Come see what MyZone is all about at JSF! And if you don't have a MyZone band yet, you are still welcome to come Cycle. But, we'll warn you, you will want a MyZone band after you take this class!
